The Story of the Shell.
The beautiful shell chosen for our logo, though rare, gained a renewed notoriety through a beach beautification and re-nourishment program following Hurricane Ivan, which ravaged the Gulf Coast in 2004.

The Cancellaria Conradiana shell, also known as "Conrad's Nutmeg", is sought out by locals and tourists alike on their strolls down the magnificent sugar-white beaches of Pensacola Beach. We think it aptly represents our love of the local area and our concern for protecting the precious ecosystems here.

Preserving Local Treasures
Santa Rosa Island is one of the world’s last unspoiled beachfront island destinations and we intend to keep it that way. Preserving our beaches for future generations is our goal and throughout the development and construction process of the Island Empress, we will take the utmost care to preserve and nurture the indigenous flora and fauna in this breathtaking eco-habitat.

A Barrier Island with No Barriers
Few places in this country offer the enticing range of weather, sunshine, natural habitats, open waters, history, friendly people and things to do as Santa Rosa Island. Known for some of the most stunningly beautiful beaches in the world, this 40-mile stretch of sand is also one of the largest barrier islands in the world. Connected by the Three Mile Bridge to the mainland at Pensacola, Santa Rosa Island is part of the Emerald Coast along Florida’s panhandle. And there, in the heart of this charming island, sits The Island Empress.

To us there is no better place to relax and take in the sunsets than on Pensacola Beach. And for the adventurous at heart, there is no end of things to do on the island. Located just minutes from an exciting array of activities, the Island Empress is exactly where dreams begin. From boutique shopping, deep-sea fishing and scuba diving, to eco-tours, golfing and free live concerts on the beach, we are within reach of satisfying interests of all kinds.

Year-round, Pensacola Beach and neighboring cities play host to some of the most exciting and interesting shows and events, such as the Blue Angels air shows, and arts and seafood festivals. And when the day winds down, you can stroll the historic streets of downtown Pensacola, take a sunset sail or enjoy a glass of wine on the boardwalk as you listen to the music of the locals.

As a resident or guest of The Island Empress, we invite you to take in the many adventures awaiting you on our beautiful island. Relax, kick off your shoes and enjoy the sounds of nature, the flavors of the area and the history of one of the most spectacular beaches in the world.

The Island Empress Resort represents a five-star fractional ownership opportunity never to be found again in this little corner of the world.
